Hanley Ramirez

On July 1, 2008, Florida's Hanley Ramirez hit a game-tying home run in the bottom of the ninth inning for the second straight game, a rare feat that hadn't occured in the majors for more than 20 years. Ramirez was a hot shot, blue chip prospect in the Red Sox organization who was dealt to the Marlins in a seven-player deal that sent Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell to the Sox. Ramirez immediately won the Rookie of the Year Award in Florida, batting .292 with 199 runs scored at the age of 22. The shortstop swiped 51 bases in each of his first two seasons, increasing his power numbers in his sophomore year and lifting his average to .332.
